Join VFW Post 160 in Glen Burnie for a Maryland Food Bank Drive on May 23rd, 11:00 AM–4:00 PM. Help local families in need while supporting your community veterans.
In conjunction with the Food Drive we are hoping to have several local Police agencies recruiters join as at our location to talk to people about potential job opportunities. As of 3/12, Annapolis City PD will be onsite. We will update the list as more acknowledge.
Why this matters
Food insecurity affects neighbors across Anne Arundel County. Your donations make an immediate difference.
The Maryland Food Bank partners with local organizations to distribute food efficiently and equitably.
Hosting the drive at VFW Post 160 strengthens community ties and showcases veteran-led service.
What we need
Nonperishable food: canned proteins, peanut butter, rice, pasta, canned vegetables and fruit, shelf-stable milk, low-sugar cereal.
Personal care items: soap, shampoo, toothpaste, diapers.
Financial donations: cash and checks accepted at the Post; monetary gifts allow the Maryland Food Bank to purchase perishable and culturally appropriate items.
How you can help
Drop off food or donations at VFW Post 160 on May 23rd between 11 AM and 4 PM.
Volunteer to sort and box donations during the event — contact the Post to sign up.
Spread the word: invite friends, family, workplaces, and neighborhood groups.
Community impact
Your participation helps the Maryland Food Bank reach more households with nutritious food.
The drive supports local veterans and families while reinforcing the Post’s commitment to community service.
Bring food. Bring neighbors. Bring compassion. Join VFW Post 160 on May 23rd and help feed our community.
